How to delete your account or your data

This page explains how to delete your Retsguide account, how to have specific data deleted without closing the account, and what we delete, what we keep, and for how long.

The Retsguide app is published by Retsguide ApS, CVR 46358082, Hvidovrevej 52B, 2650 Hvidovre, Denmark.

Delete your account

You can delete your account directly in the app. You do not need to contact us first.

Steps in the app

  1. 1Open the Retsguide app and log in.
  2. 2Go to your profile and choose Delete account.
  3. 3Read what happens to your cases, then confirm by typing DELETE.

What happens next

  • Your access is closed immediately.
  • You have a 30-day undo period. If you change your mind, you can reopen the account in the app before the period ends.
  • If you have an application that is being processed by us, it is withdrawn first. The account closes once the last withdrawal is approved.
  • When the period ends, your profile is anonymised and your cases are deleted as set out in the table below.

Alternative: email us

If you cannot log in, you can instead email us from the address your account was created with. We confirm the request through that same address and complete the deletion within 30 days.

Delete some of your data without closing the account

You do not have to delete the whole account to have a single case or document removed.

  • Cases and drafts can be deleted by you in the app. They are marked as deleted immediately and removed permanently after 30 days, so you have time to undo.
  • To have a specific document or other information deleted that you cannot remove in the app yourself, email us from the address your account was created with and describe what should be deleted. We handle the request within 30 days.
  • Uploaded documents are deleted within 30 to 40 days of your request.
